Vans are worth more than cars, for the straightforward reason that there is more of them. More steel in the shell, a bigger engine, and on a lot of them a catalytic converter that is worth having on its own.

What makes a van worth more
Weight, mostly. A long-wheelbase high-roof Transit is close to double a supermini before you have looked at anything else. Panel vans, tippers, Lutons and dropsides all carry that advantage.
Pickups sit in the same bracket — Hilux, Ranger, Navara, L200. Four-wheel drive adds a transfer box and a heavier axle, which adds weight again.
Clearing more than one
If you are a garage, a bodyshop, a builder or a fleet clearing several vehicles, ring the yard directly rather than filling in the form for each one. It is far quicker to price a batch on the phone, and we can usually plan one run rather than several.
Same goes for a van that has been off the road on your yard for years while you kept meaning to deal with it. That is a normal call for us, not an awkward one.
Sign-written vans
If your business name, number and website are down the side, tell us. We will make sure the livery is removed or destroyed rather than leaving a van with your details on it sitting somewhere. It costs nothing and it saves the odd awkward phone call later.

Is a van worth more than a car as scrap?
Usually, yes, and mostly because of weight. A large panel van can be close to twice a small hatchback before anything else is considered.
Do you take vans with the racking still in?
Yes. Ply lining, racking and roof bars are no problem — leave them in if it is easier for you.
I have four vans to clear from a yard.
